FIS equivalency evaluations of foreign degrees and transcripts support college and university recruitment and retention of international students, allowing schools and students to optimize their resources.
FIS evaluations support applications for admission, scholarship, and F-1, J-1, M-1, OPT visas to meet ICE Student Exchange and Visitor Program (SEVP) and federal regulations. FIS evaluations are used by universities, colleges, beauty colleges, and trade schools.
FIS offers two types of academic evaluations:
- FIS Document-by-Document (DD) report evaluates the foreign academic program to determine its corresponding U.S. educational equivalent including institutional accreditation and recognition, program duration, dates of study, and entrance requirements. For an additional fee, the report may be modified to include a cumulative grade point average (GPA) per program/degree (MDD).
- FIS Course-by-Course (CC) report includes everything in the DD report plus a listing of the coursework completed within each program, along with the equivalent US credit hours and U.S. grade per subject.
