More than three decades of experiences working with professionals in the edcuational, immigration and legal services communities has shown that FIS understands the importance of accuracy and precision in every project. We know that even a minor mistake might embarrass your organization, confuse your audience, cost you a case in court, delay an educational or legal decision, or negatively impact your bottom line. So we have developed a professional approach to translations that goes beyond word-for-word document conversion to ensure you the most accurate document translations possible.
Most FIS translators are native-language speakers. But simply providing the right language skills is not enough to produce accurate translations of your critical documents. Someone with language skills might be able to produce a word-for-word translation of a document, but if they are not as familiar with the subject, the accuracy of the translation will suffer. So it's equally important that every translator is a subject matter expert with professional experience translating documents like yours. For instance, when translating educational or legal documents, we don't just assign a translator based on the languages involved in the project. Rather, we carefully select a translator who has experience working with similar educational or legal documents. This ensures that the meaning of the document - not just the words - is translated with precision.
A proven process that delivers accuracy you can rely on
To ensure the accuracy of every translation project, we employee a comprehensive translation workflow that includes a unique 3-step translation, editing, and review process. This commitment to accuracy gives you complete confidence that every translation is a match to the original document. Learn more
ATA-certified translators and subject matter specialists
Certification is the first step toward ensuring accuracy in document translation. So each FIS translator has been accredited (where possible) by the American Translators Association (ATA) or by the authority governing translation services in his or her country. Plus, FIS translators are assigned projects based upon their subject matter expertise and their experience with the type of documents to be translated. Learn more
