Title: Foreign Credential Evaluator
Reports to: Director of Evaluations
Date available: 10/27/03 - open until filled

Requirements: FIS is seeking a self-motivated individual with a bachelor's degree, and a minimum of 1 year of employment experience in foreign or domestic credential evaluation. Must also have experience in Microsoft Word and Excel. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills with diverse clientele, a strong eye for detail, and the ability to work well under pressure is required. Fluency in a foreign language, experience in international education research and background in international higher education are strongly preferred, but not required.

Position Description: The position evaluates educational and work-related documents from foreign nationals seeking entry, working status or college transfer within the US. An evaluator will follow written procedure for evaluating each file, which will at times include independent research. The evaluator is expected to talk with clients when questions arise and is expected to keep clients informed of file progress if requested. The evaluator will need to become familiar with extensive research materials, including the Internet.

• At least three years experience as full-time freelance translator
• ATA-accreditation in your language pair, if offered
• A degree in Translation Studies from a recognized university
